Nicola & Lewis at Balfriesh Barns ~ Nairn
Nicola & Lewis’ wedding was my first time shooting at Balfriesh Barns and I was blown away as soon as I arrived. It’s a stunning spot…The perfect match for Nicola and Lewis who wanted their wedding to feel relaxed, real, and completely true to them.
These two wanted a wedding that felt easy and natural. No staged moments, no awkward posing… just the real stuff. My favourite kind of brief.
The whole day kept that vibe from start to finish. Morning prep was chilled and full of laughs, the ceremony was personal and full of emotion and once the party started, it did not slow down. Good food, good drinks, good music and guests who were absolutely up for celebrating.
Balfriesh Barns turned out to be the ideal backdrop for everything, loads of space, beautiful light and so many little corners that just work without trying too hard. For a first visit, it definitely made an impression.
What I loved most was how quickly everyone forgot I was there. That’s when the best photos happen: the unposed stuff, the reactions, the messy dancefloor moments, the hugs, the chaos of the ceilidh. Exactly the kind of wedding I love.
